No actual work today, except for attempting a few of the rivets in the tips of the rudder ribs. It became apparent pretty quickly that no matter how creative I get with bucking those, they aren't going to turn out very nice. I finally broke down and ordered a 4" no hole yoke for my squeezer. That is just like a standard yoke, but the nose of it tapers to a relatively small point and it doesn't accept any dies. The rivet is just squeezed directly against the yoke. The idea is that not needing a die for the yoke nose, you can get it into much tighter spaces. I hate the cost of yokes, but even though it makes for very expensive rivets when you consider how few of these tight quarters rivets there are in the build, the reality is it's extremely difficult without the tool. The right tool goes a long ways. So I'll leave about a dozen rivets in the rudder until I get the new yoke next week. Tomorrow I'll probably just move on to working on the elevator control surfaces.
