Left Elevator Scuffing

I set up the goofy fixture for propping the skins open and match drilled all of the stiffeners to the skin.  At this point, I have everything (minus the trim tab - that will come later after I'm done with the elevator) ready to dimple and countersink.  I really hate scuffing parts after dimpling because it's rough on hands and scotch brite, so I am taking the advice of others and trying scuffing prior to dimpling.  This at least gets the manual etch portion out of the way and is much easier with flat parts and no dimples.  On priming day I will still have to acid etch and minimally scrub/clean the parts to get the aluminum oxide and other gunk off, but since the manual etch is already done it should be pretty light work.  I'll give it a shot and see how it goes.

A handful of parts are scuffed and a bunch more are still to go.  It's amazing how the hardness of aluminum can vary depending on the alloy.  The skins are very soft and easy to scuff with almost no pressure, whereas the counterbalance ribs and spars are incredibly hard to scuff.
