Starting the Center Section

I finished up the right side tailcone rivets (up through the top stringer).

I think riveting the bottom skin to the side skin will be easier if the fuselage is tipped on its side and on the workbench, so I pulled out the clecos from the side so it can lay on the table.

Aside from the bottom, the tailcone is done for now.  I'm moving on to the center section until I have help for riveting the bottom skin.  The center section is essentially the portion of the fuselage where the baggage compartment and seating area are.  The first step is making a few spacers that go behind a couple of the seat ribs.

The center seat ribs need to be modified so that the control sticks/arms can be put in place after everything is put together.  Essentially, the big hole at the back of the rib is enlarged, a chunk of the top of the rib flange is cut out, and a brace is attached to the cut out portion so that it can be attached after-the-fact with screws.

This is the portion that gets cut out.  The pre-punched hole is used as the center point to create a 3/4" radius.

A combination of the cutoff wheel, tin snips, and files did the job.

I didn't get a specific picture of it, but in the picture below the inboard ribs after the section has been cut out can be seen.  After finishing that, I started deburring all of the rib edges.  Once that is done, the next step will be fluting the bottom edges to straighten them out.
