Tailcone Re-assembly...again

I took the completed aft tail (not sure what to call it - the 2 aft bulkheads attached to the super thick bottom skin) and clecoed it to the big bottom skin, along with the 710 bulkhead.  I riveted the bottom skins and bulkhead together, then slid in the stringers.

Time for another cleco farm!  I clecoed the side skins, stringers and bottom skins together to prep for riveting.  The instructions make a big point about ensuring that the fuselage has no twist from front to back, although with pre-punched holes I'm not sure how having a saw horse off kilter a bit would really make a difference.  Like many other things in the instructions, I think this type of info is carry over from the old kits that weren't produced to the same level of accuracy. I leveled the front end of the fuselage then checked to see if the angle across the skins at the front was the same as the aft end.  Even without leveling the saw horses, the top edge of the fore and aft side skins were within a half of a degree of each other, largely because the fuselage bottom isn't flat so front and aft just roll to the same angle.  That's well within the tolerances where any twist can be removed permanently when attaching the top deck at the tail (the horizontal structure that ties the skins together).

Knowing that the assembled structure is without any real twist opens up a few more options for riveting.  It means if I need to, I can move it all off of the saw horses, or flip it around to make it easier to get to rivets.
